| WSK Euro Series Gets Underway at La Conca |
 | | The WSK Euro series will begin the 2013 season at La Conca in Italy |
The 2013 edition of the WSK Euro Series gets under way this weekend (March 1-3), with the famed International Circuit La Conca playing host in Italy.
As is the case every year since the series was formed in 2006, top drivers from throughout Europe will be going head to head for top honors in the WSK Euro Series, with 210 entrants from all around the world, including four from Canada slated to hit the track.
A total of four classes will be dueling in Italy, with the youngest racers in 60 Mini, and KZ being the headliner.
In KF Junior, Canada will be represented by two talented drivers. Devlin DeFrancesco will be piloting a CRG with Vortex power under the DeFrancesco Racing banner, having recently shown good speed in the Florida Winter Tour. Parker Thompson will be behind the wheel of an Energy Corse entry utilizing a Energy with TM power, having earned a top-10 in the recent Winter Cup of Lonato.
The KF class will also have two Canucks as part of the mix. Lance Stroll is driving a Chiesa Corse prepared Zanardi with Parilla power, having already started his European campaign at the famed Winter Cup event. Fellow Winter Cup racer Zachary Claman DeMelo will be racing a CRG Spa prepared CRG with Parilla power.
The quest for WSK Euro series supremacy officially commences with timed practices and the superpole qualifying runs prior to the first Heat races on Friday (March 1). More Heat races take place on Saturday (March 2), ahead of the Prefinal and Final on Sunday (March 3).
