Northern Ontario Karting Championship Finalizes Plans for 2013

After a successful 2012 racing season, series officials with the Northern Ontario Karting Championship (NOKC) have been busy finalizing plans for 2013. With the race schedule in place, including the Shannonville doubleheader, and posted to the NOKC website - http://www.nokc.ca - as well as a fantastic prize structure announced, racing with the NOKC in 2013 is sure to be on every racer's radar.

The previously announced prize structure will focus on reviving the 125 Shifter category, as the Senior class champion will have the option to choose between a cool $5000 cash, or a funded ride with GP Canada under the team tent for the 2013 SuperKarts! USA SuperNationals. Held every November in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Senior 125 Shifter champion will have the opportunity to represent the NOKC at one of the biggest racing events on the world karting calendar.

Race day cash prizes will also be offered as all classes, including Senior and Junior 125 Shifter, with a minimum of 10 entries will split $1000 between the first, second and third place finishers. The 2013 NOKC classes will include Rotax Micro Max, Rotax Mini Max, Rotax Junior, Rotax Senior, Rotax DD2, Junior 125 Shifter, Senior 125 Shifter, Novice, Junior Lite 4-Stroke, Junior Heavy 4-Stroke, Senior 4-Stroke, and Masters.

The 2013 NOKC will also feature a doubleheader event weekend at the Shannonville Motorsport Park on July 12-14. The famed venue will offer NOKC competitors the ultimate karting experience, with ultra-fast speeds, drafting opportunities and the last lap excitement Shannonville is known for.

The 2013 Northern Ontario Karting Championship will again be a qualifier for the Canadian Rotax Max Karting Championship, which requires participants to complete three events before the Canadian Nationals in August. The NOKC will feature six races, as NOKC Rotax qualifiers for all drivers, as well as six additional races to make up a 12 race championship for Innisfil Kart Club members. For the 12 race championship, $10 per entry/per race will be set aside for the championship jackpot. The championship winner, plus other competitors in placing positions (to be determined) will receive a pay out at the end of the season. To be eligible for the championship and money pay out, competitors must be a member of the Innsifil Kart Club.

The 2013 schedule is posted, and online kart number reservations are now open at http://www.nokc.ca . Please log on to ensure your 2013 race number is secured. The 2013 NOKC season is generously sponsored by GP Racing Canada, Innisfil Indy Karting, PCS Project Management and Airway Automotive.

The NOKC is a regional qualifying series for the Rotax Max Challenge and is operated by the Innisfil Kart Club. For more information on the NOKC, email racing@innisfilindy.com , call 905-775-4686 or visit http://www.nokc.ca
