| Mont-Tremblant Confirms Added Practice Day Ahead of Canadian Karting Championships |
Le Circuit Karting Mont-Tremblant officials have announced that the track will be open on Sunday, August 19, in order for participants to practice for the 2012 Canadian Tire ASN Canada FIA Canadian Karting Championships, which runs August 24-26.
Initially, the host track for the Canadian Karting Championship was to be closed on the Sunday prior to the national championship event due to the town of Tremblant playing host to a Ironman competition. Le Circuit Karting have, however, elected to stay open in order to give competitors the chance of added track time prior to the prestigious year-end event.
Of note, traffic is expected to be quite congested on Sunday due to the Ironman event, with many roads closed and several only running in only one direction from 6 am and midnight.
It is therefore recommended that if you arriving for the practice day on Sunday (August 19) please arrive on Friday (August 17) or Saturday (August 18). If you are arriving early for the championship event, please wait until Monday (August, 20).
For questions about traffic, please visit the website of Tourism Mont Tremblant at http://www.tourismemonttremblant.com/en/events/details/mont-tremblant-ironman
The 2012 Canadian Tire ASN Canada FIA Canadian Karting Championships unofficially commences on Wednesday (August 22), with two days of practice hosted by the Le Circuit Karting, prior to three-days of racing action starting on Friday (August 24). |
