| MIKA 'Race before the ECKC' Ready to Go |
The Mosport International Karting Association will be holding Race 5 of the 2012 season on June 24, with the traditional "Race before the ECKC" event. The race gives a chance for those competing to get some track time in race conditions. In past years, entry numbers have rivaled those of Regional races, so get to the track early!
As with the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship event, Race 5 of the MIKA championship will feature the running of the full track. All the classes will do traditional qualifying, instead of heat races that have done in the four stroke classes this season. There will also be additional classes offered this weekend.
Classes competing in Race 5 will be Rotax Micro-Max, Rotax Mini-Max, Rotax Junior, Rotax Senior, Rotax Masters, Rotax DD2, Pro-Shifters, Briggs and Stratton Junior, Briggs and Stratton Senior, Briggs and Stratton Masters, Honda Junior Light, Honda Junior Heavy, Honda Senior and Honda Masters.
All the Briggs classes will be permitted to use the Bridgestone tire along with the Vega Blue tire. Rotax classes will be on MOJO rubber except for Rotax Masters, Rotax Mini-Max, and Rotax Micro-Max, who will be on Vega Blue tires. Honda classes will be on Vega Blue tires.
Race fees are $70 for MIKA members and $80 for members of other ASN clubs.
